Katsumi Tsuji (Japan)

Kacumi Cuđi - A Cat’s Dream       He began exhibiting in 1977. He had solo exhibitions in his country and group exhibitions in his country and abroad. He resides in Tokyo. He portrays stylised presentations of urban life and as a metaphor of the presence of life in quiet city architecture he usually positions a figure of an animal, mostly a fish or a cat on the centre of his compositions. His moderate sensibility is harmonized with tender course of the pastel, which provides wealth of tint. Besides the paintings in pastel, he very successfully produced unusual sculptures, dragons, birds, reptiles, created of thin branches found in nature, stylising them in a very authentic way.
  A Cat’s Dream, 2012, combined technique on hardboard, 61x70cm
