Petrov Morar Desanka

Petrov Morar Desanka (Serbia)

She was born in Sefkerin near Pančevo in 1946. She began doing painting in 1964 and ceramics in 1993. She had her first exhibitions with the painters from Uzdin and Kovačica, but living outside these centres of naïve art, she acquired authentic expression and iconography. Patron Saint’s Day, carrying cross, rainmakers’ songs, village crossroads with flocks of geese and hilarious children, interiors with family icons which seem to have acquired some characteristics of the people who live by, emerge as melancholic and lyrical scenes, memories of childhood in Sefkerin and Senta.
