Rabuzin Ivan

Rabuzin Ivan (Croatia)

1921-2008

He was born in Ključ near Novi Marof in 1921. He began doing painting in 1946. Authenticity of the oeuvre of Ivan Rabuzin is characterised by reduction of motifs, masterly organisation of space, and stylisation of forms and delicate gradation of nuances. For Rabuzin, a circle as an archetype was a basic form in nature, which was to develop and transform in a hill, a flower, a cloud, a tree crown and the sun.
