Rašić Milan

Rašić Milan (Serbia)

He was born in Donje Štiplje near Jagodina in 1931. He began doing painting in 1950. The oeuvre of Milan Rašič can be followed as a systematic development of already discovered style. Novelties are subtle; they appear in the form of pronounced pictorial elements which are already present in his works. In some paintings he achieves unity, while in some, the beauty of elements is found, thus teaching us to enjoy their brilliance. His central motifs are peacefully narrated events, structured as balanced wholes and churches. Gradually, the number of figures and details multiplies, but their shape becomes simpler. Thus, the painting is not diffused in ornamental arabesques and diversity of colours, but the dynamics and movement are pronounced. The colour is immanent contents of paintings. Milan Rašič often varies pictorial intonation. The paintings with dark background and green and brown nuances in the nineteen eighties were replaced with the landscapes pervaded with ochre and yellow, the colours of sun and joy of life. In the nineteen nineties, blue domineered over the harmony of purple and pink. Sensuous radiance and certain mysticism of landscapes are interwoven in his forms, artistically logical and professionally skilful in the simultaneous process of genuinely creative joy.
